Does handwashing stem the transmission of Covid-19? 14.02.21
This week I read an interview with some scientists about the coronavirus. I chose this article because I think it's very important to know elementary rules during the Covid-19 pandemic. If we don't obey them, we will never fight the pandemic, so that's why everyone should know how to behave during this time.
The scientists proved that airborne droplets are more likely to spread the virus than touch, so it's easier to get infected by talking with a sick person than by touching for example handrails in public places. Of course, it does not mean that you can't get infected by touch, so it's still so important to wash and disinfect your hands.
But can washing your hands too often and much cause some troubles? The scientists say YES. Except for the costs for water and disinfection measures, it can also lead to the situation when bacteria and viruses may become resistant to disinfectants and they just won't work as they should.
