How are Covid vaccine passports working for Israel? 28.02.21

Israel has deployed "green pass" as the first country in the world. This certificate allows Covid-vaccinated people to entry public places like gyms, swimming pools,  theaters, hotels and concerts. Of course there are still some rules and restrictions that people have to obey. Unfortunately some unvaccinated people are organizing small protests and they are trying to prove that "green passes" will create a new hierarchy in the society.  In my opinion the "green pass" idea is really rational and thanks to it it's easier to recognize vaccinated population from those who haven't done it yet. Also this idea can be very helpful in the fight with the coronavirus which is becoming more and more dangerous and  contagious . Of course some people can disagree and have right to demonstrate but in the pandemic time we have to try all the possible ways to limit the spread of the virus. I hope other countries will follow Israel and will bring the project into fo...

US makes official return to Paris climate pact 21.02.21

Last Friday the USA returned to the Paris climate agreement. That happened 107 days after the USA left and almost one month after Joe Biden said that he wants to rejoin the pact. World leaders expect the US to prove its seriousness after more than four years of being almost absent. The USA's goal is to cut emissions of heat-trapping gases by 2030. Biden said that the US would return to providing climate aid to poorer countries. I think it's such a good information. US's re-entry is very important because they have huge impact and they can do a lot for the environment. They can show their power again especially after four years of Trump's presidency and being absent for so long. I hope the USA will be an example for other countries to follow and they will achieve their goals to make the world better. We are all aware that we have so little to time to rescue the planet and stop the devastating climate changes. People have to go into action and take care of the environ...

Does handwashing stem the transmission of Covid-19? 14.02.21

Obraz
This week I read an interview with some scientists about the coronavirus.  I chose this article because I think it's very important to know elementary rules during the Covid-19 pandemic. If we don't obey them, we will never fight the pandemic, so that's why everyone should know how to behave during this time.  The scientists proved that ai rborne droplets are more likely to spread the virus than touch, so it's easier to get infected by talking with a sick person than by touching for example handrails in public places. Of course, it does not mean that you can't get infected by touch, so it's still so important to wash and disinfect your hands.  But can washing your hands too often and much cause some troubles? The scientists say YES. E xcept for the costs for water and disinfection measures, it can also lead to the situation when  bacteria and viruses may become resistant to disinfectants and they just won't work as they should.  Source: https://www.theguard...

The growing Brexit threat to Ireland 07.02.21

Is has been over a month since the Brexit came into force. In such a short period of time it has already had an impact on Ireland which is struggling with a big economic problem caused by it.   Shelves in supermarkets across much of the Northern Ireland are empty because shipment hasn't arrived. Exporters were unprepared and unready for new changes and there are troubles at the national borders. The statistics say that exports from the UK to the EU in January went down, which is 68% less than in the same period in 2020. The problem also met farmers and fishermen even though they were promised by the government that Brexit would improve their situation. They are unable to export fresh meat and fish to Europe because the food goes off before it even gets there.  Music bands can't plan their tours to the UE because  of problems with work permits and visas.  There's even a huge probability that flowers from the Netherlands can be more expensive this year so pro...
